The Gothic Neighbourhood

It is the skeleton of the original medieval Barcelona. Made up of the small districts of El Call, Sant Just i Pastor, Santa Maria del Pi, La Catedral, Santa Anna, La Mercè and Palau, the Gothic neighbourhood is a maze of narrow streets and magical corners that never cease to surprise the visitor.

Its structure remained intact until the 19th Century, with the transformation of the parish cemeteries into public squares, the remodelling of large buildings or the demolition of the walls. Once such stretch of wall can be seen in the Cathedral of Barcelona, one of its many places of interest, together with the Mercè Basilica, Plaça Sant Jaume, Plaça Reial, Portal de l'Àngel or the mythical modernist restaurant Els Quatre Gats, frequented by Santiago Rusiñol i Prats, Ramon Casas i Carbó, and Miquel Utrillo, among others.

Les Rambles

One definition would be that it is the pedestrian precinct par excellence of Barcelona, a street which begins in Plaça de Catalunya and ends at the sea.

It is one of our city's main streets, where you will find anything from florists to the most curious shops. Just walk out the hotel to the left and you will be there in two minutes.
